The Golden Ticket

Everything written in the application, coached one-on-one. Up to fifteen schools.

Five 60-minute video sessions plus unlimited document exchange by email. Andrea starts with college application strategy (which schools, which essays, what order) and a résumé (your child's teachers will want it for recommendation letters anyway), then runs the essay process for the Common App and every supplement on the list: topic brainstorm, outline, drafts, comments, edits. It ends with two hours of college interview practice and honest notes. UC and USC count as two schools each. Extra schools are available à la carte.

College essay editing at two levels. Commenting covers content and structure: what works, what is missing, what to cut, and why. Editing covers language, style and grammar on a draft the student has already revised. Most families do both, in that order. Works for the Common App personal statement, UC Personal Insight Questions, supplements, and graduate school statements of purpose.

Statements of purpose and personal statements for master's, MBA, law, medical and PhD programs.

Graduate school admissions consulting for the written part of the application: MBA essays, law school personal statements, medical school personal statements and secondaries, and statements of purpose for master's and PhD programs. Committees want fit and direction, not a résumé rewritten as paragraphs. Andrea helps applicants connect their background, their work and their goals into a statement that reads like a plan. Résumé development

A clean one-page college application resume, or a graduate school resume review for applicants who already have one.

Built from scratch or tightened from a draft, and formatted so the strongest experience is impossible to miss. It also feeds the Common App activities list and the essays, so everything tells one story.

Interview preparation

College interview prep over video: mock alumni and admissions interviews, with notes afterward.

Students practice the questions they will get, the ones they should ask, and how to talk about themselves without sounding rehearsed. Especially useful for international applicants interviewing in English.

B2B editing for consultants

White-label commenting, editing and coaching for independent educational consultants and agencies.

Since 2015 Andrea has handled the writing component for consulting companies in the U.S. and Asia, reviewing and editing thousands of essays a year on their behalf. Pick a level per student: a one-time language and style edit, content comments before edits, or full coaching from brainstorm to final draft. You keep the client relationship. She keeps the 72-hour turnaround.

Workshops and teaching

Intensive writing and literary-analysis workshops for schools, agencies and small groups.

Andrea teaches personal statement workshops around the world and keynotes educational consulting conferences in China. Workshops also cover the academic writing students need once they get to campus.

How it works

Two ways to work together. Both end with an essay the student wrote and can talk about in an interview.

Coaching and editing

Brainstorm. A conversation about who the student is and what they care about. Out of it comes a shortlist of topics that are theirs.
Outline and draft. A structure for the essay, then a first draft written by the student, with Andrea on call while they write.
Comment. Margin comments on content, structure and reflection. What works, what is missing, what to cut, and why.
Edit and finalize. Line edits for language, style and grammar, then a last read for word count and polish.

Commenting and editing

Comment. Andrea reads the draft and sends back detailed comments on content and organization.
Revise. The student revises, in their own words.
Final edit. A language and style edit. The essay is ready to submit.

Andrea helps students find their voice, brainstorm, structure and revise. The student writes the essay. She does not use AI to write or rewrite student work, and she can usually tell when a student has. So can admissions officers.

Pricing depends on the package, the number of schools and the timeline. Send Andrea the school list and the deadline and you will get a quote, not a sales call. Peak season runs October through early January. Juniors who start in the spring have an easier senior year, and so do their parents.

Evergreen Admissions Consulting is a college admissions consulting practice in New Canaan, Connecticut, run by Andrea Schiralli (Harvard M.Ed., Cornell B.A.). Does Andrea write the essays?

No. Students write their own essays. Andrea helps them find the topic, comments on every draft and edits for language, so the finished essay sounds like the student and reads well. She does not use AI to write or rewrite essays.

How fast are edits?

Comments and edits come back within three business days, usually sooner. Peak season runs from October to early January, so earlier is better.

Is it too late to start the college essay for November 1?

Usually not. A personal statement plus supplements can come together in four to five weeks if drafts start moving now. With three-business-day turnaround, most students get three or four rounds of feedback before an early deadline.
